October 19, 2009—In the Journal of American College of Cardiology: Cardiovascular Interventions, Stephen G. Ellis, MD, et al published an evaluation of 12-month outcomes of facilitated percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in the FINESSE (Facilitated Intervention With Enhanced Reperfusion Speed to Stop Events) trial (2009;2:909-916).

October 12, 2015—Findings from the ABSORB III randomized clinical trial were presented at the TCT 2015, the 27th annual Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics scientific symposium of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF), being held October 11–15 in San Francisco, California.

FDA Panel Gives Positive Review of Abbott Vascular's Absorb Bioresorbable Stent
March 15, 2016—Abbott Vascular announced that the Circulatory System Devices Panel of the Medical Devices Advisory Committee of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) voted 9 to 0, with one abstention, that the benefits of Abbott’s Absorb fully bioresorbable drug-eluting coronary stent outweigh the risks. The FDA panel also voted on the device's safety and efficacy as a treatment for coronary artery disease.
